Elias Gedamu

Founder

Elias Gedamu, our founder is a Professional Engineer registered with APEGA and holds a Masters in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on 3D imaging, image processing, screening, early detection, and diagnostics. The founder holds 8 patents that are used in industry as part of commercial products. One of the patents has been licensed to Samsung. He has three commercialized products in industry including one in 3D medical imaging. The President’s work in innovation has been recognized by the National Science Foundation in the USA where he advises as a panelist for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program. The program relies on people that are experienced with bringing innovative technology products to market.

Abraham Gedamu

Chief Executive Officer

Abraham Gedamu is a highly accomplished CEO with a diverse background in project management, engineering, and biomedical technology. As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he has successfully delivered business value in various industries such as 3D medical imaging, energy, and the public sector. With expertise in SAFe, DevOps, and as a Product Owner/Product Manager, Abraham has consistently demonstrated his ability to drive innovation and optimize processes for optimal results. His mastery in Biomedical Engineering, particularly in 3D medical imaging, has further enhanced his understanding of cutting-edge technologies and their application in healthcare. Abraham Gedamu's exceptional skills and extensive experience make him a visionary leader with a patent pending and a proven track record of success.

Juan Benitez

Executive Business Advisor

Juan Benitez, our Executive Business Advisor has an MBA from the Haskayne School of Business, is a Professional Engineer registered with APEGA, and is a member of the A100. He is an Executive in Residence with Kinetica Ventures and he is the co-founder of Evok Innovations where he managed the company’s corporate venture fund. As an entrepreneur, he cofounded and served as President/COO of Beyond Compliance Inc., a Calgary-based, venture capital funded enterprise software company with clients in North America and the Middle East. As our Executive Business Advisor, he provides business advice, mentorship service, and an extensive network to help us achieve commercial success.

Maurice Tadros

Development Lead

Maurice Tadros, our Software Development Lead holds a Masters in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in detection of health concerns in developing countries. He has also coauthored two publications in prestigious biomechanics journals (Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport and Gait & Posture). He has experience in developing innovative technologies from concept to commercialization with successful deployments of biomedical devices in East Africa. His experience includes implementing complex software solutions as well as incorporating business priorities, people, process and technologies.

Rani Hussein

Business Development Manager

Rani Hussein, our Business Development Manager for Ethiopia holds a BSc in Economics and Diploma in Social Work. She has built the Alberta People to People HIV/AIDS Support Society; a sustainable not-for-profit organization whose mandate is ensuring orphaned children in developing countries like Ethiopia are supported until their education is complete. The organization has been in operation since 2003 through the support of Canadian investments. Rani has strong links with the Ethiopian government and health facilities and our business development team for Ethiopia has been instrumental in securing our MOUs for commercialization with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science and Technology in Ethiopia. This includes current and forecasted sales within the country.

Lashitew Gedamu

International Strategic Advisor

Lashitew Gedamu, our International Strategic Advisor has a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and is a Professor Emeritus with the University of Calgary’s Department of Biological Sciences. He has a long and distinguished career in academia with 42 years of experience teaching highlighted by: 40 grants received for his work as a researcher, 14 awards including the University of Calgary Lifetime Internationalization Award, and 16 published papers covering his research on parasites and viruses. As our International Strategic Advisor Lashitew is instrumental in building connections with our partners around the world, most notably in his home country of Ethiopia where our imager has recieved support from their Ministries of Health and Innovation with the goal of implementing our product nationwide.

Jakub Qazi

Executive Regulatory & Clinical Affairs Advisor

Jakub Qazi, our Executive Regulatory and Clinical Affairs Advisor has a Master’s in pharmaceutical sciences from Université de Montréal and graduate degree in business administration from HEC Montréal. He has over two years of experience in multisite cohort study coordination, scientific writing, and statistical analysis through his work at the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging and Université de Montréal, respectively. Trained in clinical research study design, real-world study design, and biostatistics, he was involved in the preparation of multiple published manuscripts. As our Executive Regulatory and Clinical Affairs Advisor, he participates in regulatory strategy (pre-IDE, IDE, and 510k preparation, their submission, associated non-clinical test planning, associated risk management planning and associated post-market oversight planning) as well as clinical trial drafting and management.
